Congratulations SVHS Band and Color Guard
Sweepstakes Band - Superior Rating at UIL
On
April 2nd & 3rd, the Smithson
Valley Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble attended UIL
Concert Band contest held at the Judson Performing Arts
Center. Both groups received superior ratings in
concert and sight-reading. The band has the distinction
of being a “sweepstakes” band for receiving superiors at
both UIL contests held during the 2007-2008 school year
which include: marching, concert & sight-reading.
Congratulations to the Ranger Band for this outstanding
accomplishment!
Color Guard Receives Silver Medal at State Championships
On
April 5th, the Smithson Valley Ranger Band
color guard, under the direction of Meagan Pauley, was
awarded the silver medal at the Texas Color Guard
Circuit championships held at the Berry Center in
Houston, Texas. Over 50 color guards competed in 12
divisions in Saturday’s competition. Congratulations to
the color guard for a job well done!
