News From Your Director

Dear Parents & Students,

This is where things get exciting! We are quickly approaching the final run of our 2016 competitive marching season, beginning with the Yamaha Cup Marching Contest this Saturday at Rutledge Stadium (next to Judson High School). This competition is hosted by the Wagner Band and is put on and run by USBANDS. General admission to the contest on site is $16 for prelims AND $16 for finals, or $24 for a combo ticket that will get you in to both. We have 100 tickets (each good for prelims OR finals) that we can pass on to you for $12. If anyone would like to take advantage of this, please bring cash in exact change to me (Mr. Boening) and I will hand the ticket(s) right back. I have to turn over the money and/or any unsold tickets when we check in on Saturday, so there will be no time to process checks. We don’t get anything out of this, but it is a way to pass on a small discount to our parents.

This week:

· FRIDAY: END OF GRADING PERIOD! Students may keep, lose, or gain eligibility at this time. Students who lose or fail to regain eligibility at this time will STILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS SATURDAY’S YAMAHA CUP. Students who lose or fail to regain eligibility at this time will be UNABLE to participate in the UIL Region Marching Contest on October 22nd or the UIL Area Marching Contest on October 29th.

· Friday – Football game vs. Clemens (away) – Kickoff 7:30pm
Pre-game meals will be served right after school
Students will meet in Band Hall by 5:15pm, dressed and ready.
Estimated time back at SVHS: 11:30pm

· Saturday – Yamaha Cup Marching Contest (Itinerary)
Call time for students is 9:30am at Ranger Stadium
We will provide lunch for ALL students
This is a prelims/finals event
Students should bring $10-$15, as they will be on their own for dinner at concession stands while we watch remaining prelims competition
Estimated time back at SVHS: 12:45am (Sunday morning)
