Dear Parents and Students,

As I'm sure you are all aware, the Ranger Band will be off to Midland the day after tomorrow!  We have been going over the details of the trip with students since last week, but I just wanted to quickly share our itinerary with parents.  Parents, I would especially like to point out the need for a sack lunch on Friday.  We will not be feeding the students until we arrive in Midland.  I would also like to encourage any parents who have not subscribed to the Ranger Band "Remind" class to do so.  We use this tool PRIMARILY to alert parents when the band is about 30 minutes away from SVHS on our return trip so that rides can be coordinated.  To subscribe, just text @rangerba to 81010, or paste the following into your browser:


2nd Period – All report to band hall, Percussion and LC continue loading trailer.  All others gather bags, pillows, uniforms, etc.

9:45 – Roll Check, and final instructions

10:00 – Board buses

10:30 – Depart for Midland

4:00 – Arrive in Midland

5:00 – Eat dinner

6:30 – Get instruments and line up

6:45 – Enter Stadium

7:30 – Kick-Off

10:30 – Load trailer & have a snack (prov ided)

11:00 – Depart Midland

4:00 – Arrive at SVHS


Band Polo (wear on bus)

Band Khakis (wear on bus)

Dinkles (marching shoes – wear on bus)

Long black socks – CALF LENGTH, NO WRITING, NOT SEE-THROUGH (wear on bus)

Black Belt (gentlemen – wear on bus)

• Flute, Clarinet take instruments on bus

• Altos, Low Reeds, Trumpets, Trombones, Mellophones and Baritones will load instrument carts at the end of your band period on Thursday.

• Percussion and Tubas will pack cases at the end of your band period and set them neatly by the back door.

Sack Lunch

Snacks (no drinks without lids, no chocolate, no “messy foods” (i.e. sunflower seeds, Cheetos, etc.) ….please use good judgment, as YOU will be the ones cleaning your bus at 4am when we return to SVHS.
