News From Your Director

August 5, 2015

Dear Parents and Students,

We are off and running, and what a great first two days we have had!  The amount of improvement seen from day 1 to day 2 has everyone VERY excited about the potential of the 2015 Ranger Band!

Just a few notes as we get to the middle of week 1:

First, we are taking pictures on Friday.  This will be the big group picture that goes in the football program, as well as individual pictures in uniform.  I have attached the order form for pictures if you are interested, and students can pick up hard copy from the front of the band hall.  Students will need to bring their black Ranger Band T-shirt on Friday, as well as long (calf length) black socks with no markings.  Shoes are optional, as none of the 9th grade students have them yet (can't see them in the picture anyway).

Second, regarding next weeks schedule, we have had to make a slight change due to a Fine Arts Department Inservice.  Wednesday, August 12th will now be a normal day, going from 7am to 4pm.  Thursday, August 13th will now end at 11am.  The pool party is still in limbo due to booking issues.

Finally, we have a "sock hop" on the calendar for tomorrow after practice, lasting until 7pm.  This is not a sock hop in the 1950's sense (modern music will be played), but is an opportunity to lose your shoes and have a (very) informal dance in the cafeteria.  Attendance is optional, but all work and no play make for a very dull Ranger Band.  Parents, please pick up your student promptly at 7pm.

THANKS!  And have a great Ranger Day!
