News From Your Director

September 6, 2016

Dear Parents & Students,

The Ranger Band did a great job at the Anderson game this past Friday! I was particularly proud of how they performed in the stands, and I think everyone had a great time! Just a reminder that there is no rehearsal this Wednesday due to EARLY RELEASE, and Thursday’s rehearsal will end at 7pm in order to make up a little of our lost time. Friday’s itinerary is virtually identical to this past Friday:

     · Students report to the band hall when the bell rings to start 6th period
     · 2:00pm Tubas and percussion will load their instruments on the trailer
     · 2:00pm All students will change into their summer uniform
     · 3:00pm Students will board charter buses on the band pad, putting instruments under the bus
       (except for percussion and tubas)
     · 3:30pm Depart for Dragon Stadium in Round Rock
     · 7:30pm Kick-Off
     · 12:00am Return to SVHS

**Those who purchased pre-game meals will be served a “box meal” to eat on the bus. All others should bring a meal from home to eat on the bus. Snacks are also permitted on the bus.

Parents, please do not park or pick up students behind the band hall following rehearsals or performances. We generally have a large volume of equipment to transport, and need that area to be free from traffic. Thanks!

Fajita Dinner & Silent Auction
Parents: we are currently accepting items for the Silent Auction. Our goal is at least one item from each band family. There is no such thing as “too small an item,” as they can be combined into larger packages for the auction. This is the primary fundraiser that goes to the booster budget each year… money that goes directly back into the band program and your students. WE NEED YOUR HELP! The event is quickly approaching, and our volunteers need time to process the items prior to September 30th. Thank you!

Parking Lot Lights
The SVHS Administration had set the lights to stay on late for us this past Friday, but they were off by the time we got back. Administration is working to resolve this issue before the next game.

Fundraising $$
For those who participated in our “59 Minute Fundraiser,” money is now past due. Parents, please ask your student if he or she has turned in their money. Thanks!

Have a Great Ranger Day!
